Pricing guide
How Much Does a Bathroom Remodel Cost in Central Pennsylvania?
A realistic bathroom remodel is not one number. Scope, existing conditions, layout and material choices determine whether the project is closer to $15,000, $25,000 or well beyond $30,000.
In our experience serving Lebanon and surrounding Central Pennsylvania communities, a focused tub-to-shower conversion commonly falls between $15,000 and $25,000. A complete standard bathroom often begins around $25,000. More customized projects generally begin above $30,000.
Practical bathroom remodeling ranges
Existing wet area updated with a shower base, wall system, fixtures, enclosure and coordinated accessories.
A coordinated renovation of the bathing area, vanity, flooring, paint and related finish work within a defined scope.
Expanded design, premium materials, layout changes, specialty details or more extensive construction.
These are planning ranges, not quotes. An on-site assessment and documented scope are required to price a specific bathroom.
What increases the price?
The most expensive decision is often changing the layout. Moving a toilet, shower, tub, vanity, walls or electrical service can affect framing, plumbing, wiring, flooring and inspections at the same time.
- Relocating plumbing fixtures or walls
- Full tile rather than a panel wall system
- Custom shower glass or specialty doors
- Water damage, rot or unsuitable previous work
- Electrical and plumbing code corrections
- Premium cabinetry, countertops and fixtures
- Accessibility features or structural changes
Why can two estimates be so different?
One proposal may cover only visible finish work while another includes demolition, disposal, protection, rough plumbing, code updates, waterproofing, project management, closeout and warranty support. Compare the written scope—not only the total at the bottom.
Where can you save?
Faucets, mirrors, vanity lighting and showerheads offer room to control cost without compromising the structure of the room. We are more cautious about cutting costs on cabinetry, countertops, flooring, shower walls, waterproofing and rough-in work because those components are harder and more expensive to replace later.
Plan for the unknown
Bathrooms hide plumbing, wiring and water damage behind walls and floors. A planning reserve of roughly 10% gives the homeowner room to address a legitimate unforeseen condition without derailing the project. Any extra work should still be documented and approved through a written change order.
